Not good news!! I really shocked and surprised. I express my deepest sympathies to Mrs. Susan and family.
Please to accept my condolence and sympathy for the death of this great charismatic character. His death, certainly for his family and colleagues particularly Si-Al is difficult, but what he gets is the will of God. He will be always admired most scholars and researchers. No doubt his absence will be felt for years.
The only remedy is patience.

With my best regards,

Susan, I was so saddened and surprised by the loss of your Jai -- I have such fond memories of visiting you both on behalf of Texas A&M-Commerce. I stayed in touch with him on occasion, just a couple of months ago, after I moved here to Oregon. Jai was a truly amazing man and such an incredible role model for many, many chemistry students. Please accept my warm condolences to you and your family.

We are much saddened to come across the announcement of the death of Dr. Jai Nagarkatti on Sigma’s website. It came to us as rather abrupt, as we have not heard of Dr. Jai Nagarkatti having bad health, and he was only around 63. We very much admire Dr Jai Nagarkatti’s shining performances in his career in the Sigma-Aldrich Group of companies. Having been one of Sigma’s approved suppliers for almost 20 years, we Yick-Vic share your feelings of loss of an eminent director in the giant family. We shall continue to co-operate with Sigma as a good supplier in her role as an ever-expanding worldwide company in life sciences. Please convey our warm regards to the members of Dr Jai’s family.

Susan, Pat and I were shocked and saddened to hear about Jai. I enjoyed getting to know Jai through the Missouri Botanical Garden board and thoroughly enjoyed our relationship. Ironically, I was scheduled to join Jai at SM for lunch last week and had to reschedule. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Nick and Pat Reding.

Texas A&M University-Commerce mourns the loss of a dear friend. His understanding the power of education, compelled his family to establish scholarships to deserving students, particularly those interested in learning about the sciences. Jai would be pleased to know that his legacy includes helping young minds develop into responsible citizens.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Nagarkatti family.

My thoughts and prayers are with Jai's family. Jai always said hello in the hallways and asked how things were going. He was very personable. I would like to relate a story about Jai which shows the kind of guy he was. A colleague was retiring - it was her last day and we were having a little party. I e-mailed Jai to tell him about the party. Jai was down in 5 minutes - taking time out of his busy day to thank this employee for her years of service to Sigma and wish her a happy retirement. Though a simple gesture, this made this employees day. She made mention several times how touched she was that Jai had come down to see her. She walked out Sigma's doors for the last time that day feeling appreciated. I'm sure Jai has touched many other employees without ever knowing.
Rest in peace Jai.

To the family of Jai,
I consider myself very fortunate to have worked and have known Jai at Sigma-Aldrich. Jai was always asking about me and my family rather it would be at my desk or in the hallway. Jai was a compassionate and very caring person. I am a better person for knowing Jai.
A very fortunate Sigma-Aldrich employee

As a Sigma-Aldrich employee I appreciated Jai's leadership of the company, especially in the difficult times of the past 2 years. His "Ask Jai" videos helped all of us feel more connected to him, and provided insight into his vision, even on tough issues. My condolences to his family, my prayers are with you.
