Andrew Berton Merryman

1971 - 2018

Merryman, Andrew Berton was born October 11, 1971, in Des Moines, Iowa, and died January 11, 2018, in St. Louis, Missouri. His parents were Jerry Merryman and Bonnie Merryman Niebruegge and step-father John Niebruegge. He married Kelly Lynelle Hoelscher on October 16, 2004, in St. Louis. Andy grew up in Kirksville, Missouri, where he attended all his school years and graduated from Kirksville High School in 1990. He graduated from Central Missouri State University in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in computer science. After graduation he worked for various companies in St. Louis as a software engineer until his health declined. Andy is survived by his loving wife and advocate Kelly, his mother Bonnie and step-father John, brother Jason Merryman, and step-sisters Maria Niebruegge Long and Jo Ann Niebruegge Cornman. He was predeceased by his father Jerry, his paternal grandparents Evelyn and Bert Merryman of Waterloo, Iowa, and maternal grandparents Curtis and Lorraine Barkley of Lucerne, Missouri. Andy loved to be at the family farm as a child and adult. He worked on the farm in his youth and later enjoyed hunting there with his buddies Colin and Sonny, brother Jason, and step-father John. He liked the preparation to hunt as much as the hunting. Someone once said, Colin has the passion, Sonny has the know-how, and Andy has the gear. Andy always had the latest gadget and was prepared with every tool imaginable. He loved his cats and dogs and was a good trainer. Andy was very genuine, and his most endearing quality was his generosity to family and friends. Services: Memorial Service at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Monday, January 15, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Missouri.
