Now that I live in Las Vegas, I apologize for the fact that I just heard of Herman's death today. Regardless, I still extend my sincere thoughts, prayers, and heartfelt sympathy to his entire family. I had the honor and privilege of knowing and working with Herman as an integral member of the Funeral Service Education Advisory Committee at St. Louis Community at Forest Park. Herman always had a presence that filled the room, and I always looked forward to seeing him at the Advisory Committee meetings and the Missouri Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association annual conventions. Rest in Peace, Herman. You have certainly earned your place in Glory as a diligent and steadfast servant of your Lord and Savior!!

Sir HERMAN's career as a noted long-standing St. Louis area funeral director, and his extensive service to regional families of all faiths and backgrounds is also noteworthy.

I worked with my good friend, Herman, for decades on educational opportunities for students. He never gave up and his energy and commitment to so many causes and organizations was inspiring. He was always on the go right to the end. God bless you Herm.

Sir HERMAN's fellow Knights and Ladies of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre sincerely mourn his passing this week.
During his long life, Sir HERMAN and his wife Lady BLANCHE did great honor to the church, the metro St. Louis community, the funeral profession and the Order with their lifelong support, leadership, charitable activities and enthusiasm for many years with meritorious service on behalf of numerous Catholic and community needs. His enthusiasm for hockey (youth and professional) was also legendary!
We will prayerfully remember them both in our Masses and the regular prayers of the Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre.
May God Grant Them Eternal Rest with Him, and their family consolation at this time.
Sincerely,
The Knights and Ladies of the
Holy Sepulchre of Greater St. Louis

Of all the many things that can be said of Herm, the one that comes first to mind is that he was an avid collector of his past associations. He never seemed to join any organization for which he didn't become a deeply loyal and active participant for life. He has been a community treasure throughout his life and will be missed.
