Walter Kroeter

Kroeter, Walter 93, passed away on July 17, 2013. He was born April 9, 1920 to Bertha and Walter Kroeter. Survived by his wife Kathleen Kroeter of Chesterfield and two children, David (Janice) Kroeter of Jonesboro, AR and Debbie Papadopoulos of St. Peters, MO. Loving brother of Velma Cade. Dear grandfather of Ben (Karen) Kroeter, Allison (Jay) Carnes, Jason and Nick Papadopoulos. Great grandfather of Jackson Kroeter. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Alice Mey Kroeter and his brother, Herbert Kroeter. Walter was a lifelong Lutheran, and spent his entire career as a patternmaker, starting as a young apprentice at Busch-Sulzer in St. Louis and working into his 80's. For over 50 years he operated his own business, Remmer's Pattern Company in St. Louis which later became Kroeter, Inc in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was a founding partner of Southern Cast Products also in Jonesboro. A life member of the American Foundryman's Society, he was active in both the St. Louis and Mid South Chapters. He loved fishing, woodworking, spending time with his family and listening to the Cardinals. Services: Visitation will be Friday, July 19 from 12:30pm until time of service at 1:30pm at BUCHHOLZ WEST Mortuary, 2211 Clarkson Road (at Wilson Road), Chesterfield, MO. Interment will be private.
