Rosemary Herzog Obituary

Herzog, Rosemary Elizabeth (nee Leuthen), born in St. Louis on October 9, 1950, peacefully left this world to join the angels on October 4, 2012. Energetic friend, wife, sister, daughter, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-aunt, Rose never met a stranger. Rose was an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church of The Woodlands, TX, as the funeral reception director. Rose lived for others, loved unconditionally, and harvested an enthusiasm that surpassed a child's wonder. As the mother of four, Rose was constantly volunteering as roommom, band mom, and soccer manager. Rose began her married life as a nurse at M.D. Anderson; who knew she would be in the same building 38 years later as a patient. Rose was at peace before her death, happy to have lived to see her children's weddings and her grandchildren's births. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Rose's name to St. Mary's Dominican High School, 7701 Walmsley Ave., New Orleans, LA 70125. Services: Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 11 from 4-9 pm at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am Friday, Oct. 12, at Epiphany of Our Lord Church.

Published by St. Louis Post-Dispatch from Oct. 10 to Oct. 11, 2012.

It is now 8 years since you left us, and still see your fantastic smiling face & comical ways. Miss you dearly, along with morning Mass, then coffee. Wonder if you have met up with Charlie, who passed away on 9/11/20. Jeannie came to his Funeral Mass. Luv our memories.

It's hard to believe that 7 years have gone by since you left us, dear friend. Strange that we met in Tx., both from St. Louis. You are at rest in STL, we returned home to STL 3 yrs.ago. Words cannot say how much you are missed, Dear Friend.

SMS made it through our first funeral reception without you. It seemed so strange to not see you bustling about. Theresa brought a small bouquet of yellow roses to place on the serving table to honor you. That way we will always know you are looking over us. We miss you so much.
Love & prayers,
Anne

To the Family of Mrs. Rose Herzog: When I first met Mrs. Rose, I thought she was a very kind, loving and caring lady. She would always compliment me on my usher duties at church and letting my family know as well which was a delightful way to start off my Sundays at church. I would also see her talking to numerous people at "Donut Sunday's" as well to my family and I. She always had a wonderful story to tell or something exciting about life. I am thankful for taking the time to listen to her. I was saddened to hear that she had passed. She is going to continue her life in Heaven with all the Angels, Saints, Pets and everyone else who has gone before us. She will be greatly missed!!! God Bless Her!! God Bless your families!! God Bless Everyone!!! Take Care!! Courtney Tuft. Parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church The Woodlands, TX. 77382.

When I came to The Woodlands in 2006 to take care of my Mom...I was living in St. Louis.....that was our first connection, then we found out both had lived in New Orleans for may years with similar connections....then it came up in conversation I was born in Shreveport....and low and behold...even though they were in Tyler or Longview, TX she had to go to Shreveport for her baby's birth...and low and behold the same hospital ...Schumpert. She reached out to me from day one at STAOP as I did not know many people. Her infectious laughter....devotion as a disciple of Christ....and one of the most wonderful angels that ever walked this earth will be missed and I will never look at a rose again as just a rose....but as a representative of such an AMAZING LADY!

I didn't know Rose very well until later years, she lived down the street from me in St. Louis. But I became good friends with her sister Jeanne and when Rose would come to visit, I would get to see her again. Such a zest for life and she will be missed by all. God bless all the family and I will be praying for everyone. One time when she visited, she used this computer I'm typing on to send messages to her funeral lunch committee in TX. Rose, you will be missed and I'm glad I finally got to know you. She asked me to keep her informed about the celebrations last year for Epiphany Parish 100th anniversary and she returned for one of the events.

Rose was so kind to our family when we moved to Corpus Christi and again when we all lived in Louisiana. She had a big and generous heart for all people. We are sorry to hear about her passing, but know we will see her again one day. Our hearts go out to you, her family!

Rose was my neighbor and fellow Texaco wife while we both lived in Corpus. I will always remember our chats by the mail box and monthly breakfasts at Andy's Kitchen; and then our occasional visits through the years in The Woodlands. What a good time we always had together. Rose, your laughter and smile will never fade from my heart and mind. Mark, John, Jimmy, Joey, and Jennifer - Rose was truly a blessing to everyone she met and we are all better people because of her life and light. Dear Friend, we will laugh together again one day. I love you and miss you so.

We were Rose & Mark's and children's neighbors for over 12 years in Kenner, La. Even though they moved away, that home with all of the trees Rose planted will grow in Memory of Rose for a long time. Everyone was shocked to hear and will miss her . They were there when we had a great neighborhood and now it has changed so much, but Rose's trees are still there. We will miss her!

Everyone was shocked to hear about Rose from the old neighborhood in Kenner. There are not many left in that neighborhood but we have all of the beautiful trees Rose planted. We all will miss seeing you and the family. God's peace!

My family met Rose at STAOP and loved sharing "remember St. Louis" stories. She was such a bright soul that always showed the world God's Love through her own actions. She never wanted to be recognized for her good deeds but did them all the time. She loved her family with her entire heart. I hope that each of her children know that she spoke of you in everything she did. We felt so honored to know her. My young children considered her their friend as did my husband and I. We are better people because we knew her and we will all miss seeing her.

My husband and I met Rose at our restaurant. She would come in by herself or sometimes meet a friend. She became a regular and most of our staff knew her. She was always so friendly, so vivrant. I had no idea that she was ill and her passing was a complete suprise. We will miss her bright smile and warm personality. We will see each other again one day in Heaven. I pray for peace and comfort for Rose's family and friends during this difficult time.

Rose, we knew you for only 3 short years, but you impressed us immediately with your enthusiasm and zest for life. Mark and your children were very fortunate to have you in their lives, and you made the world a better and happier place for all while here on earth. Terry and Alan Snell

Mark, my sisters and I had the wonderful privilege of meeting Rose when we traveled to suprise our mother, Lorraine Maguire, for her 70th birthday last year. It did not take long to recognize Rose's sweet spirit and the tremendous love and compassion she had for people. She was a true friend to our Mom and I know she will miss her dearly. We are praying for God's peace and comfort for you and your family and all those who have been touched by Rose's life.

You are truly a beautiful soul that touched so many lives. I miss you so much!
My front porch will hold so many memories that we shared. You would tell me to "look at moon" isn't it beautiful...that sweet voice is so close to my heart. Rose you set the bar for a lot of people and made me a better person! Peace to my sweet friend and her family.
