Cherished grandfather of Katherine Miles, Anne (Ben) Westover, David (Julie) Jacobs, Michael (Karen) Jacobs, Caroline Jacobs, Elizabeth (David) Little, Thomas Jacobs, SoRelle Peat, and Brogan Peat. Great-grandfather of Kaitlin Miles; Daniel Westover; Abigail, Benjamin, Sarah, and Nathan Jacobs; Andrew, Emily, and Charles Jacobs. Dear cousin of Robert C. Bob Buchanan (deceased). Brother in-law of Eunice Buchanan. Special Uncle Bub of Gail (John, deceased) Jennings, Joan Niehaus (deceased), Bette (Bill) Henderson, Peggy (Troy) Clenney, and Charles Chuck (Cassy) Kennedy. Charles John Charlie Peat was born December 19, 1918 in Herrin, IL to Perry Milton and Maybell Maples Peat. He grew up in Rock Hill and Brentwood, MO, and was graduated from Brentwood High School in 1938. Charles served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater throughout World War II. In 1946 he married Mildred Ralls of St. Charles, MO. The couple had three children: Barbara, Charles (deceased 1955), and Robert. Charles was a 71-year member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #1. He worked for many years as a project manager for Sachs Electric and L. K. Comstock Electric, and has been a valued member of the board of directors of RJP Electric. Services: Visitation on Saturday, May 11 at noon, and funeral service with military honors at 2:00 PM, Alexander Funeral Home at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, 11101 St. Charles Rock Road, St. Ann.
