Henrietta Freedman Obituary

Freedman, Henrietta passed away January 4th, 2018 at her home in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 95. She died peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family. Henrietta was the beloved wife of the late Rudolph Freedman for 72 years. She is survived by her three children Robert (Sari)Freedman, Judith Freedman (John Lawrence), and Richard Freedman (Ronda Moss); her grand-children Aaron Freedman, Jason (Jen) Freedman, Andrew Freedman, Maisie Lawrence, Daniel Freedman, and Kevin Freedman; and her great-grandchildren Alex Freedman, Caroline Freedman, and Ethan Freedman. Henrietta is the sister of the late Lillian (late Morris) Busch, Thelma (late Leon) Pultman, and Irvin (Rosalie) Winesuff. She is a dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Henrietta will be remembered for her commitment to family, education, art and community. As a former President of the JCRC and the Jewish Federation Women's Division, she made numerous contributions to the Jewish community including helping to establish the St. Louis Holocaust museum. Henrietta founded the Lifelong Learning program at Washington University in St. Louis. She believed that education was not just for the young, but a life-long pursuit. Henrietta pursued her love of learning, art, and self-expression throughout her life. Services: Visitation will be held at Congregation Shaare Emeth, 11645 Ladue Road on Wednesday, January 10th at 10 a.m. A memorial service follows at 10:30 a.m. Internment follows at New Mt. Sinai Cemetary. In leiu of flowers, memorial contributions preferred to the St. Louis Holocaust Museum, the St. Louis Council of Jewish Women, or a charity of your choice.
