To Jennifer and the members of the Butz family--
Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss of Teresa. While I did not know her personally, the community painted a picture of an amazing person at the South Park candlelight gathering. It was clear how many lives she had touched in the most wonderful and varied ways--I am sorry I did not have the opportunity to know her. You are all in my thoughts and prayers, as is Teresa.

Teresa was a very special person; I am a tenant at the downtown office and her vitality and honest way of dealing with people meant a great deal to me personally. It is challenging to own a small business. What we do is highly confidential...and what we do needs to be done correctly in every detail. She understood that and conveyed that to her staff.

And, we laughed often ---about so many things!

I remember when she "rejoiced" in the purchase of a property...I was aware how much she gave to her family and her community.

Our prayers are with her family during this time.

Dear Teresa: May you sing with the angels and fly with the eagles. May your love and compassionate wisdom rain down upon us all in this time of sadness and beyond. You will be missed - wholeheartedly. I will laugh harder in your honor. I will be kinder to strangers and those in need. I will learn to make your salad and mustard chicken and serve and eat it with great relish! And I will host game nights and include a seat for you at our game table. And I will do my best to support and love and help your dearest Jennifer, for she needs us all now more then ever. I'm singing your praises girl...and loving you from here. XOX, Zanetha

Mike and Butz Family:

I went to Rockhurst and live in Seattle now. When I saw Teresa's picture I saw your eyes; when I heard she was from St. Louis, I wondered if she was your sister and if you were the Mike I went to college with. The words below from Maya Angelou helped me when my parents passed away recently -- although there is nothing to take that pain away, hope these words help you and your family: "It is healthy and honorable to weep at the loss of someone we love. Healthy because such passion must be released. Honorable because it is respectful to admit the importance of people who have loved and supported us...people whose footprints cannot ever be matched." Dear Norb, Elaine & Your Wonderful Family...
Our deepest sympathy at the tragic death of Teresa. A wise woman in our parish told us just recently that there is no sorrow that can compare to the loss of one of your children. We cannot fathom how you can deal with the circumstances surrounding Teresa's death. What a dynamic young lady Teresa was. We are with each of you in spirit during these days...and please know that you are a BIG PART of our prayerful concern many times each day. These are the days that you must let your FAITH be your HOPE & CONSOLATION. Our love...and if we can do anything for you - do let us know.

Many Cor Jesu girls have fond memories of sharing the stage with Norb and his brothers in the 1980s. While all that talent can't be denied, what made them really special is how they were OFF the stage: sweet, kind, funny, generous. It was obvious they are a very special family. My heart goes out to that very special family on the loss of your beloved daughter and sister. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Norb, I am overcome with sadness by the news of Teresa's death. My heart goes out to you, Jen and your entire family. This kind of loss is unthinkable.

Oddly, after all these 25 years, I was just talking about you on Sunday - of all days. My girls and I are doing a community theater production "To Oz" and I was recalling our friendship and your role on Broadway as Fiero. I even got out my old playbooks and read your notes to them... and to think my claim to fame is driving YOU to and from play practice...

Then on Wednesday I heard this horrible, tragic news. I am so sorry. I pray that Teresa's spirit rests peacefully in the loving arms of Jesus, our Good Shepherd. My prayer for each of you is that you will access and embrace that love and peace each time you think of her smile and honor her memory by re-telling the stories of her life.

Cannon in D keeps replaying through my tears. I am sorry I cannot be there in person at this time.

Dearest Tom and the whole Butz family,

My deepest deepest sympathies. So sad of this news. I apologize for not being able to make it to the funeral parlor. In my absence I pray for healing in your family on many levels. I heard this saying once,
" Life is not measured by the number of breaths that you take, but by the moments that take your breath away"~
Teresa has lived a wonderful and full life in this short time. May there be peace that passes understanding as you grieve, and as you remember the moments that have taken your breath away. Love you much, nanette

To the Butz family,
I am sorry for your loss and hope that you find comfort in the fact that Teresa touched so many people in a positive way. I was a classmate of hers at DB and remember her wonderful personality. She hit one "homerun" after another in life and will be missed by all who knew her.

Dear Butz Family,
I remember meeting Teresa when the DB prayer group had a Bible study for the younger siblings. I then was fortunate to spend 4 wonderful years with her as a classmate at DB. I still remember her laugh, even in a crowded hall. She was always a lot of fun, and had so much love and spirit to share with everyone! My mother remembers her coming to our house for parties that the prayer group held, and she recalls her as being a very sweet girl. I recently came across some pictures of a prayer group Halloween party at the Stone's house, and there was Teresa-dressed as a baseball player!
I wa very happy to see her at the reunion last year. She looked as happy as ever with her huge infectious smile! I will truly miss her. May God be with you all in your time of sorrow.
