Leonard Carl Owen Jr.

Owen, Leonard Carl, Jr. Leonard Carl Owen, Jr. of St. Louis, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Mr. Owen is survived by his wife Yvonne; daughter Kathryn Owen Lethbridge (Richard) of Dallas, TX and granddaughter Megan Lethbridge. Mr. Owen served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1946 and was a Captain of Artillery in the European Theatre. Mr. Owen was educated at the University of London, graduated from Auburn University and received his Master's Degree at Stanford University School of Business. He joined Graybar Electric Co., Inc. in Jacksonville, FL in October, 1948. After holding management positions in Dallas and Los Angeles, he was elected Vice President and Treasurer at Graybar Corporate Offices in New York, 1969. In 1982, he was promoted to Chief Financial Officer, St. Louis, MO. He was a Director of Barclay's Bank of New York and Commerce Bank of St. Louis. He served on the Board of The Children's Home Society of Missouri, Visiting Nurse's Association, National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and the St. Louis Club. He served as President of Siwanoy Country Club in Bronxville, NY. He was a member of Treasurer's Club of New York, Economic Club of New York, St. Louis Club and Old Warson Country Club. He was a member of the United States Senior's and Missouri Senior's Golf Associations. The family wishes to thank the staff at Mari de Villa for their attention and kindness. Services: A Memorial service will be conducted at Ladue Chapel Presbyterian Church, 9450 Clayton Road, Ladue, on Friday, April 12, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. Private entombment Bellerive Mausoleum.
