Joann Runge Obituary

Runge, Joann Cecilia of St. Peters, Mo died on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the age of 80. Beloved wife of 60 years to Ted; cherished daughter of Gus and Cecilia (Debrecht) Schultehenrich; dear mother of Diane (John) Reichard, Gary (Joan) Runge, Kevin (Beth) Runge and Keith (Leslie) Runge; loving grandmother of Mark (Jennifer) Reichard, Laura (Matt) Budke, Maureen (Jeff) Hirsch, Natalie, Amy, Mitch, Sam, Gus and Grant Runge; great-grandmother of Sarah Reichard and Evan and Olivia Budke; dear sister-in-law of Nancy Schultehenrich, Bloss Runge, Joe and Nancy Page, and Joan Thro. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Schultehenrich. Joann was born Sept. 17, 1935 in St. Charles, Mo. She attended St. Peters Elementary and High School, and married Theodore Runge on May 7, 1955. She was active in Extension Club and the St. Peters Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital, Meals on Wheels, Birthright, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Joann enjoyed traveling and many fun times at the Lake of the Ozarks. Always on the go, playing golf, tennis, bowling and cards, she was an avid sports fan who enjoyed attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events and following the St. Louis Cardinals. Joann cherished her many dear friends and loved hosting parties. Services: She donated her body to Washington University School of Medicine. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 23, at 11 a.m. at St. Barnabas Catholic Church (1400 N. Main, O'Fallon). Visitation with family will take place from 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salvation Army or the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
