Jim Mandich, revered by Miami Dolphins fans as both a player and broadcaster for more than four decades, died after a long bout with bile-duct cancer. He was 62.
"No Miami Dolphins player has given more of themselves to the Miami Dolphins family than Jim Mandich," said former teammate Nat Moore, a Dolphins vice president and special adviser. "On the field, he did whatever was needed to help the team win. Even when he retired from the game, he was always there to help the members of the Dolphins family as a broadcaster and as a fundraiser. We will all miss him greatly."
