Jo Imms-Leibick Obituary
IMMS-LEIBICK Imms-Leibick, Jo Ann, 49, of Roanoke, VA and formerly of Plantation, FL, sang and smiled until the day she was taken into heaven, Tuesday, October 29, 2002. Jo Ann courageously fought the ravages of Multiple Sclerosis for 32 years. Jo Ann attended the University of Florida and University of South Florida. She learned to live each moment as if it were her last. Her sense of humor and fun bought joy to the lives of everyone who knew her. She was a great organizer of people, gave a terrific party and loved to laugh and sing. She also loved her family and her daughter, Katie dearly. She was born in Philadelphia, PA. lived in Lexington, VA, grew up in Plantation, FL. and lived her final years at Pheasant Ridge Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. The Pheasant Ridge caregivers were compassionate and made her time there loving and comfortable. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all of the Pheasant Ridge staff. Her father, Thomas J. Imms, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Katie Leibick of Plantation, FL; her mother Joan Imms; and her sister and caregiver, Elizabeth (Betsy) Imms of Roanoke, VA; her sister Christine Chavers of Miami, FL; her brother Thomas E. Imms of Maryland; her former husband, Michael M. Leibick of Plantation, FL; her former sister in law Linda of Maryland; her niece Courtney Imms of Roanoke and her nephews Marc Chavers of Sunrise, FL and Christopher Imms of Maryland. Visitation will be Friday, November 1 from 4 to 7 PM at Oakey's South Chapel, 4257 Brambleton Avenue, SW, Roanoke, and on Saturday, November 2, 9 a.m. before the Mass of the Resurrection at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church, 2505 Electric Road, Roanoke. The Reverend Msgr. Joseph Lehman will officiate. The family welcomes flowers. Donations may also be made in honor of Jo Ann's memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 3959 Electric Road, Roanoke, VA 24018.
