Lusteg, G. Booth, 73, of Plantation, FL, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012 after a courageous battle with Cancer with his family at his side. Booth was in the NFL, AFL, and WFL and played for such teams as the Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets. Besides football, he played semi-pro baseball, tennis and excelled in basketball for which he was inducted into his high school Hall of Fame. He wrote many sports and Christian articles for major newspapers as well as his autobiography "Kick Rejection and Win." Booth encouraged many young people with his motivational speaking. He appeared in major motion pictures: Airport 77, Black Sunday and The Greatest-Muhammed Ali. He founded the Booth Lusteg Kicking Camp, known as "Kicking for Christ," a non-profit free camp for underprivileged youth and headed a drop-out prevention program for troubled teens. He graduated from the University of Conn. and went on to earn a Master's Degree in math, received his real estate license, was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and was recently ordained, traveling throughout the southeast speaking in churches and various ministries. Booth attended First Church West in Plantation, FL. He was extremely generous, giving all he had to any in need, and contributed to many ministries and charities over the years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and granddad, affectionately known as "Gooster" to his granddaughter. Surviving Booth is his wife Carol Lusteg, a daughter Lisa Lusteg Bennett, and a granddaughter Linae Bennett of Davie, FL, brother Walt Lusteg of Trumbull, CT, and sister Joy Shea of Branford, CT. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home North, 200 W. Copans Rd, Pompano Beach, FL 33064. Funeral Services will be held 10 to 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Pompano Beach, FL.

In memory of a trully good friend i wish that he rests in peace ..I met Booth many years ago while he was kicking field goals for the Miami Dolphins. Trully a special friend ship that endured many years .. Only regret is we did not meet again prior to his passing.. God bless and keep him kicking field goals in heaven .. special thanks to Carol as i consider also a friend .. God bless WALT LAURIN
