Edward J. Wisniewski

Wisniewski, Edward J. (E.J.), 68, of Deerfield Beach, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013 of ALS a.k.a. Lou Gehrig's Disease. He passed at the home of his former wife, Bonnie and Salvatore W. Tripi, in Ocala, Florida, who cared for him in his last months. He was born to the late Edward, Sr. and Maria Wisniewski May 14, 1944 in Syracuse, NY. A half sister, Pauline Riley of Maine, NY, is also deceased. E.J. graduated from East Syracuse High School in 1961. He served in the 174th Air National Guard from 1964 to 1969. He moved to Miami from Syracuse in the late 70's. E.J. was self-employed and owner of Dolphin X-Ray for the past 30 years. He was an X-Ray Engineer by trade, which consisted of service and installation of x-ray equipment. His profession and his love of fishing also led him to many places afar such as Haiti, the Dominican Republic, the Eastern Caribbean Islands, Panama, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Alaska, and of course, his favorite place, Belize. He co-owned Bob's Paradise, a mini-resort on the coast of the Caribbean (accessible by boat only) in the Monkey River area of Belize, Central America. Unfortunately, the resort was destroyed by Hurricane Iris in 2001. He made many lifetime friends on his travels and revisited quite often. He one day hoped to retire in Belize and just fish. E.J.'s hobbies were many. His #1 hobby was fishing. His favorite personal quote was "Tight lines and good fishin'!" He was also a self-taught singer/guitar player and even made a few bucks with it from time to time, entertaining in clubs as far south as Key West, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and the Deerfield Beach area. He was a very skilled and competitive pool player. Golf was another one of his hobbies. He had several collections, including 30 Kodiak Bows. Last but not least, was anything computers. He built them to his own liking and beyond. He was "the guy" to go to with any computer question or issue. He was a man of many talents and was very successful at all. E.J. is survived by two sons, Edward of Syracuse, NY, Timothy of Emeryville, CA; a sister, Patricia (Tish) Easton of Woodstock, GA; and a half brother, Boris Sarachinsky of Binghamton, NY. He is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. It was E.J.'s wish to be cremated and his remains committed to the deep blue waters of South Florida. A small ceremony will be held at a later date. It was also his wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made toward research for ALS in hopes to find a cure. May he rest now and be at peace with God for eternity.
