Wilfred Danley Obituary

It is with great sorrow that we report the passing of our father Dr. Wilfred Miles Danley III on April 13, 2014 at Athens Regional Hospital. He was 84. Born on December 8, 1929 in Williamsport, PA to Wilfred Miles Danley II and Laura Edyth Danley, Bill served during the Korean War and was a proud veteran. After the war, he attended Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA for undergraduate studies and then Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medical School, graduating 7th in his class. Bill spent most of his medical career in Pompano Beach, FL where he ran his thriving medical practice and was a highly respected physician. He later moved to Loganville, GA where he practiced medicine part time for over 20 years. Bill loved boating, hunting, fishing, and most of all practicing medicine. He was active in several churches and in the community providing free medical services through volunteering and shelters. Anyone that knew Bill knew he loved to tell a joke. We will miss his sense of humor. Bill is survived by his brother, 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and his second wife. He is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Norma Danley. A private family service will be held in South Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an animal charity or charity of choice.

My family owned the drug store next to his office in Pompano Beach. Please accept our condolences ... he was always a gentleman, friend and respected physician.
