John J. Toohey, Sr., 82, of Syracuse passed away Saturday at Van Duyn Center. He was born in Syracuse, NY and attended Most Holy Rosary. He served in the US Army and was retired from Conrail after over 60 years.
Survivors: his wife of 50 years, Joan R. (Kenney) Toohey; son, John J. Toohey Jr.; daughter, Lisa (Jonathan) Schwartz; grandchildren, Ryan, Zachary, and Grace; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Cecilia's Church, 1001 Woods Rd., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
