Charles Moody Obituary
Charles "Merrill" Moody passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from pulmonary fibrosis. He was born on July 8, 1946 in Jacksonville, Florida to Henry and Elizabeth Moody. Merrill is predeceased by both parents and his brother Johnny.
He grew up in Jacksonville, FL and after serving in the Army, where he earned several medals including the Commendation Medal, moved to Tallahassee where he graduated from Florida State University. Following graduation from FSU, he was employed at Price Waterford in Jacksonville. Merrill was a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and retired from the State of Florida, having worked at several departments and once served as the District II Deputy Secretary of Health and Rehabilitative Services (HRS). He enjoyed volunteering at Taxaide through AARP.
He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Kenna Rhyne Moody; son William Merrill Moody (Laura); daughters, Marianne Elizabeth Yancey (James) and Melissa Rhyne Moody; and seven grandchildren: Isabella, Sonny, Jacob, Abbie, Jamie, James, and Josh. He is also survived by his brother Buddy (Kaye) of Jacksonville; sister Carolyn Axthelm of Cornelius, NC; mother-in-law Mabel Rhyne of Panama City; and stepmother Earlene Bussey of Ft. Myers.
Visitation will be Friday, November 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and the memorial service will take place Saturday, November 22 at 11:00 a.m., with a reception following, all at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (4665 Thomasville Rd., Tallahassee, FL 32309.)
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The Florida Veterans Foundation (The Capitol Suite 2107, 400 S. Monroe St., Tallahassee, FL 32399), Aging with Dignity (P.O. Box 1661, Tallahassee, FL 32302), or a charity of choice. The online guestbook is at www.abbeyfh.com.

I am so sorry about this loss. You all are like family to us. I remember Mr Moody letting me sneak away to his car to listen to the football games when we were on boyscout camping trips. My heart hurts for you!
