Clyde Walton "Bill" Cobb

Clyde Cobb Obituary

Clyde Walton "Bill" Cobb Clyde Walton "Bill" Cobb, who died Saturday, July 17, 2010, in Tallahassee, FL, was born October 12, 1943 to inauspicious beginnings in Hosford, Florida, though his colorful life would take him around the world Bill's father was Clyde Cobb and his mother was Irene Halstead. He was raised with his family in the town of Jay, Florida. From his earliest years, he is remembered for his outgoing, charming personality. He was also universally known for his love and devotion to those he cared about. While he traveled throughout the world, favoring the Caribbean, he always considered the turquoise waters of the Lower Keys home. He once stated that "he had a Caribbean soul he could barely control," and he meant it. Cobb was always the entrepreneur, a hard working and enterprising man who worked tirelessly towards success. On April 10, 1985, he married the love of his life, Diana Villarreal, and for the past 25 years they have been devoted to one another. Together they settled back into Bill's hometown of Hosford and built a successful natural spring water company. He will always be remembered for his spiritual, loving, friendly nature. He would gladly give the shirt off his back to any stranger; as well as his handsome and charming smile. He never settled for anything less than the best and fought his cancer and illness with unparalleled strength. Unfortunately, he peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 17th in the presence of his family. He is survived by his wife Diana; two sons, Brady (wife Lauren) and Brian (wife Ann); two sisters, Aleene Abbey and Faye Sewell; and four grandchildren, Carter, Ryan, Dillan and Tiffany. The Mass will be held at the Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More, 900 West Tennessee Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32304 on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 11:00 am EDT. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Prostate Cancer Fo-undation (www.pcf.org).

As Bill's nephew said, all who were lucky enough to now Bill will always carry a part of him. He was unconditional love on this earth.

Diana, I am so sorry to hear of Bill's death. When I spoke to you both last week I thought he looked stronger. Having just lost my brother, David, to this insidious disease, I know a small part of how you must feel. If I may be of any comfort to you, please feel free to call me at Mama's (Doris Shuler). May God bless and comfort you and your family.

My six sisters, two brothers, and I send our deepest sympathy to Diana, and the rest of Bill's family. As for myself, I will always thank God for sharing such a great soul, and friend with me. All the great joy, and laughter I had the pleasure to share with Bill will never be forgotten. May God's Angels guide, guard, and protect him as his soul journeys to be in attendance with our Heavenly Father, and his son Jesus Christ. With all of our love. Charlie E. Brake, and family.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Clyde's (he was called 'Square' back
in our high school days if my memory is right!) family. He was a year behind me in school but all of our family and friends rode the Cobbtown
Bus. We'll always remember his smile and good personality. Rest in
peace, friend.
