I count her as one of my guardian angels. She and Miller Johnson rescued me when, as a Morehouse College dropout,I was meandering through the streets of St. Petersburg. They made it possible for me to minimize my financial burden by working in the former FAMU hospital.

Mrs. Johnson was a master educator and great inspiration to the students that she taught . She was a mentor to me at Griffin Junior High and Lincoln High School. She always encouraged us to do our best. My contact with Mrs, Johnson continued when I became an adult. We worked together at Florida A.& M. University and I sponsored her as a Gold Star for the Natioal Hook-Up of Black Women, Inc. Mrs. Johnson was a very kind and caring person with a beautiful smile for all.
