Ruthie Burgess Obituary

Ruthie Mae Burgess MOUNT PLEASANT - Ruthie Mae Burgess, 84, died Tuesday, October 30, 2007. The service will be at 11 a.m. EST today, Nov. 10, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, with burial at St. John Church Cemetery in Quincy. Family received friends from 3 to 8 p.m. EST Friday at Bradwell Mortuary Chapel (850-627-3700). Mother Burgess leaves to cherish her memories four devoted sons, Deacon John W. Burgess (and Dora) of Detroit, Bishop Jake Burgess (and Estella) of Greensboro, Chief Warrant Officer Fire (ret.) Joseph Burgess Jr. (and Elizabeth) of Atlanta and Elder Henry James Burgess (and Linda) of Detroit; a devoted daughter, Ella Burgess McMillan of Mount Pleasant; two devoted sisters, Mary Cobb (and Charlie) of Quincy and Janey Byrd of Quincy; 32 devoted grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-granchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and sorrowing friends.
