His court affiliations included The Supreme Court of the United States, U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the 5th and 11th Circuit Courts, U.S. District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, and the Florida Supreme Court and all Appellate, County and Circuit Courts.

Sam and Mary Joan's 66th Anniversary

Christa & Chris Moffatt

July 29, 2015

Sam Mann graced us with the privilege of caring for he and his beautiful wife, Mary Joan, for over three years. Always the southern gentleman, Sam kept us entertained with stories of family cross country RV trips, fond memories of his younger years at the Webb School and always made sure we had the Florida Gators football schedule posted for his viewing pleasure. Many of the same CarePartners were fortunate to be with Sam and Mary Joan for those wonderful years accompanying them on dolphin boat tours, luncheons at the St. Pete's Yacht Club and countless trips to Harvey's to join daughter Vicky, while he ordered a burger with no bun. He entertained many of our children on his dock with his disappearing palm tree trick and loved when the CarePartners brought their dogs by for a visit to romp on his lush lawn. He liked to pay us in Reese's peanut butter cups to change his light bulbs and wind his grandfather clock (two cups for a "retainer" - three more when the job was completed to his satisfaction). We all admired and treasured the relationship between Sam and Mary Joan. It was obvious to every doctor, every visitor, every stranger on the streetthat through the passing years, these two love birds had grown together like one tree. Wherever Sam needed to go, MJ was only steps behind. There was no mistaking the true love in their eyes when they spoke to each other. Sam told us one of the keys to a happy marriage was to always say Yes Dear. We feel very blessed to have accompanied him through the last months of his journey, keeping him happy and comfortable with his autonomy and dignity in tactand Mary Joan never far from his side. Sam stayed in his beautiful home until the end. The night before he passed away, they fell asleep holding hands, as they did for most of their nearly 67 years together.

Generations at Home has a butterfly for our logo. It represents the most mature stage of this beautiful insect; Freedom, independence, transformation. May your spirit fly free, Sam, to the big Yacht Club in the sky, where you will always have a can of Coke in your hand, and a slice of Harvey's Key Lime Pie!!

Love you always,
Christa and Chris Moffatt
