I met Martha 42 years ago when I was still in high school. I was friends with her son John. Martha was always so nice and patient with the kids. Everyone liked her. She was a terrific cook and always made sure we ate something from her kitchen. I really liked her Southern accent, her Southern personality, and her good nature. She was a talented artist. My mother bought one of her paintings at a charity auction and displayed it in her living room till she passed. I still have one of Martha's paintings, and it's my favorite piece of artwork.

I met Mrs. Chive over 40 years ago through Jan, her daughter. She was a kind, gracious Southern lady. I was in awe of her painting ability. The hallway in her home looked like an art gallery to me! Mrs. Chive took time to encourage me to paint. I especially remember a time she came to my house to help me paint flowers on a large canvas I was working on. Our loss is heaven's gain. She has heaven as her canvas now and I know she is smiling. My thoughts and prayers go with Mr. Chive, Jan and John.

I met Mrs. Chive through her daughter when I was in middle school. She took time to work with me as I began to paint. I always admired her art work. Walking down the hallway in her home was like walking in an art gallery! She was a kind, gracious southern lady and always had time for Jan's friends. Even today over 40 years later, I remember her coming to my house to help me with painting flowers! Our lose is heaven's gain. She has heaven as her canvas. I know she is smiling. My thoughts and prayer go out to Mr. Chive, Jan and John.

Martha is my niece Joanne's mother-in-law it is thru John (her son) and my niece that we met and loved Martha. There's another link that we shared, my birthday & Martha's are both Feb. 5th and to add more coincidence to this Theo, Martha's husband & my wife Cindy both share Aug. 25th as their birthdays. Martha & Theo Chive lived & shared a beautiful life - God Bless them...

Aunt Martha was a true southern belle who was funny, full of life, fun to be with, and a woman who appreciated the benefits of a good nap. I have many fond memories of her that make me smile. My love and thoughts go out to Uncle Theo and cousins Jan and John during this time.

I never met Mrs. Chive but I've known her daughter Jan for over 30 years. She did such a great job raising Jan I'm sure she was a lovely person. My thoughts will be with the family tomorrow.
