Morris GROVER Obituary

GROVER, Morris Sr. "Mo", 93, passed away July 26, 2012. Mo was pre-deceased by his wife, Lois; son, Morris, Jr.; sisters, Eva and Mary Jane; and his brother, Bill. He is survived by his devoted companion of 13 years, Lena Farris and her loving family; his daughter-in-law, Jan; his grandson, Michael and his wife Michele; great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Sarah; nieces; nephews; and many, many friends. Mo was a U.S. Army veteran who served in World War II in France with the 638th Tank Destroyer Battalion. He started with the City of Tampa Public Works Department on April 15, 1957, and retired on May 1, 1979. Mo loved life and lived it. He never met a stranger. He loved playing his guitar and harmonica, singing and writing songs. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a wonderful man with a warm and loving heart. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to LifePath Hospice or the charity of your choice. Graveside service will take place Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. Please sign the online guestbook at www.BlountCurryMacDill. com

Lena, our deepest condolences. Mo was one of the finest and most warm and friendly gentleman I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I truly enjoyed the many conversations we had together. We will miss and remember him. No more "piccolo" man!!
