Giles LOFTON Obituary

LOFTON, Giles Odell III

89, passed away Aug. 1, 2015. He was born Nov. 7, 1925, in Colquitt, GA to the late Giles O. Lofton II and Marge (Strange) Lofton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Anicia Lofton. Giles enjoyed bowling, drinking McDonald's coffee, staying very active in politics, and was a huge Florida State University fan. He was a member of the first men's graduating class. (It previously was an all-girls college.) Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Carolyn Payne and her husband, Donald of Tampa, Debbie Develle and her husband Mike, of Tampa; grandchildren, Michael Develle and his wife, Betsy of Dayton, OH; BJ Develle and his wife, Greta of Dunedin; granddaughter, Jennifer Chan and her husband, Victor of Orlando; great-grandchildren, Jimmy and Kate Develle of Dayton, OH, Georgia and Gwen Develle of Dunedin, and Samantha, Jasmin and Kyle Chan of Orlando. There will be a graveside service with military honors Thursday, Aug. 6, at 10 am at the Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, 33610. Condolences may be left online at:
