William POFF Obituary
66, of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away unexpectedly November 19, 2017. Born in Harlan, Kentucky, he grew up in Titusville, Florida and graduated from the University of Florida in 1973 where he excelled as a linebacker for the Florida Gators. He was a lifelong Gator fan. After college he moved to St. Petersburg where he spent the rest of his life. During his life he worked in banking, education, and real estate development. He loved the beach and could often be found enjoying Sunset Beach. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Georgia Poff. He is survived by his beloved son, Logan David Poff and brothers, Mark and Kenny Poff. His remains will be scattered in a private family ceremony. He will be missed.

I worked with Dave and we became friends in our first after college jobs, in banking. After a few years I moved away and we lost touch but I remember him as a peaceful guy. RIP brother

I MET DAVID 37 YEARS AGO WHEN WE COACHED FOTBALL AT BOCA CIEGA HIGH SCHOOL. THERE WERE 3 OF US THAT WERE PRETTY CLOSE AT THAT TIME. ROD G., DAVID AND MYSELF. I LEARNED TO COACH INSIDE LINEBACKERS LISTENING TO DAVID. GOING TO MISS BOTH OF.

Rest peacefully David. He was also a great baseball player in his youth as he and I traded home run barrages through the years from Little League onward. A great football player and even better man of character. Rest easy my brother. You will be forever missed.
