Megan Carpenter Obituary

CARPENTER, Megan Suzanne, 17, of Plant City, Fla., landed safely in the arms of Jesus Wednesday, November 15, 2006, after a long and courageous battle with cancer for the past five and½years. She was surrounded by her family members and close friends who loved and adored her spirit and life so much. Megan was such an amazing young lady who stood strong in her faith. This sweet angel showed everyone she met or touched, what it means to believe in miracles, to look for the positive in everything, to keep on smiling even when it was hard and to never give up because Megan believed with all her heart and soul that God would never give her more than she could handle. Megan was our miracle angel who loved God, her family, her friends, living life to the fullest, the beach, watching the sunsets and rainbows and being a cheerleader. Megan is survived by her loving parents, Chip Carpenter and Dana Carpenter; her awesome big brother, Chad "Bubba;" her grandparents, Bud and Patti Rentz and Carl and Marilyn Carpenter; her aunts, Kim "Sissy" and Amy; her uncles, Steve and Jay; her cousins, Lindsey, Lauren, Adam, Matt, Connor, Casey and Ben; her two best friends, Alex Moore and Lauren Bradshaw; and her two loving dogs, Zoe and Lola, and many more close friends and family. The Carpenter family will receive friends at the visitation 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2006, at First Baptist Church, Plant City. The celebration of Megan's life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2006 at First Baptist Church, Plant City with the Rev. Tommy Warnock and Dr. Ron Churchill officiating. The family is asking that any donations be made in memory of Megan Carpenter to St. Joseph's Hospital Tampa Foundation, c/o Children's Cancer Research Group. Haught Funeral Home (813) 717-9300

My sweetest Meg- you will forever be in my heart. You were the best niece anyone could hope or ask for. Your amazing spirit and faith makes me want to be a better mother, daughter, friend, and person. You had a glow around you that could never be extinquished. I will miss you with every passing moment and never let your spirit die. My girls will miss the many trips to the beach, Gators, Caddy's, etc. with their favorite cousin. I am so happy that I was able to share your last moments here on earth and to see the Angles take you to see your heavenly Father. We love you to the moon and back (x 1,000,000,000)

Dana,
I was thrilled when I connected with Olivia in Atlanta and then to find out she was your cousin. She kept me updated on Megan's condition, it was heart breaking to find out that your beautiful daughter was ill. Just know that she is in a beautiful place in heaven and is seated on the right hand of the Father.
It feels like we just graduated as best friends, not like 30 years have passed.
I am deeply saddened by your loss and will pray for you and your family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Carpenter family and friends. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Megan however through the love of Aunt Amy I felt that I did know her. Amy's face would light up each time she talked of Megan and the admiration she felt as she fought through her health issues. We will keep you in our prayers. Nancy and Tony Pewonski

To the Carpenter Family:

I just wanted you to know that my deepest sympathy and love are with you at this time.

Dana, I have thought of you and Chip so much through this. We grew up at Southside together and I always loved and admired you.

I am so sorry for this terrible heartbreak, and though many people say it, I mean it when I say, if there is anything I can do, please call me.

My love to your family and I don't want to leave Bud and Patti out. Bud was such a big influnce in guiding my Christianity as a young person.

Much love,

Judy Ellis

To all of Megan's family:
My heart goes out to you all in this time of sorrow. I have never met anyone as Beautiful, Optimistic and Strong as Megan. Through it all, she always wore a smile everytime I saw her. Now she is an angel in God's hands and I know she is still smiling down on us.She will always be remembered as an amazing role model by our entire community and will be missed dearly.

What a true inspiration Megan was! I got to know her personally when she & my niece cheered together. I will never forget how determined she was to participate in cheer competitions despite what she was going through. She even willingly volunteered to be a "flyer" if it would help the team, and she competed with her "trademark" hat when she lost he hair during treatment. You couldn't help but love and admire her for so many reasons!
My 2-year old daughter, Macyn, and I continued to lift "Megan and her mommy" up in prayer each night before bed. One night, I failed to mention Megan's name, and my daughter promptly reminded me that "Mommy, you missed Megan". On Wednesday night, I told my daughter that Megan wasn't sick anymore, and my precious angel proclaimed that "she is all better now". How True those sweet words are! Megan was an angel here on Earth, and I know without a doubt that she is now one of God's most beautiful angels in Heaven.
Dana - You have been the epitome of a devoted and loving Mother! I am convinced that Megan was able to battle her illness as long and as bravely as she did because of your support, constant companionship and undying love. Praise God for the belief in miracles and faith that you helped to instill within Megan. I pray that if I were ever faced with something like this, I would be able to handle it with the faith, grace and unwavering devotion that you have shown.
My family will continue to remember Megan, and will keep you all in our prayers!
Much Love & Admiration....
Gary & Donna (Lawson) Graham (Macyn & Gehrig)
