Luella Schoepf Obituary

SCHOEPF, Luella, 84, of Sebring, Fla., passed away Thursday, October 29, 2009. Memorial services for Luella will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2009, in the Serving in Mission Chapel in Sebring, with the Rev. David Altman officiating. Luella was born January 21, 1925, to Vern and Anna (Sanquist) Schoepf in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and had been a resident of SIM in Sebring since her retirement in 1990. She attended Mankato State Teachers College, Northwestern Bible College and Pillsbury Baptist College, and joined SIM as a missionary in 1952. During her missionary career, Luella served in a variety of ministries throughout Ethiopia, including translation, trekking, doing secretarial work in the education office, hostessing and teaching. Her years of teaching touched the lives of Ethiopian students in SIM schools as well as missionary and international children at Bingham Academy. She attended Southside Baptist Church in Sebring. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Warren and Eunice Schoepf of Sheffield, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews. Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring, Fla. 33870 (863) 385-0125
