Margaret Katherine Wetzstein PERKINS

Margaret PERKINS Obituary

PERKINS, Margaret (Wetzstein) February 11, 1925 - May 21, 2013. Surrounded by family, love, tears, laughter, prayer and song - peacefully moved on to join her family and God in heaven just as a new day was starting in Tampa, Florida. Moving to a new home seemed to be an underlying theme in mom's life. Beginning with leaving her home in North Dakota to work in California, to work in the steel mills in Indiana during World War II, to moving her young family to South Dakota, Montana and then Utah, to moving back to Montana and then to Nebraska with her five children (Leo, Rosemary, Bill, Teresa, Moira), to Florida, back Nebraska and finally to Florida by way of Texas - she seemed to be on the move, constantly. At the same time, she showed all of us how to love and care for family and others. She would return to North Dakota to care for family members, and to attend graduations, marriages and other significant events in her family members' lives. Thanks, Mom, for showing us how to love and care for each other. Awaiting Margaret in heaven are her parents, Stephen and Rosa Wetzstein, her brothers Leo and Steve, her sister Theresa, two sons (Francis Matthew Jr. and William Joseph), her husband for 67 years, Francis Matthew Perkins, and many family members. Yet to follow Margaret home are her youngest sister Gloria (Wetzstein) Blotsky, her daughters Rosemary Ashby, Teresa Jarrels, Moira Gilley, her son Leo Perkins, eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild, and many family members and others that have felt her love in their lives on earth. Memorial services for Margaret and her husband, Francis, will be held in Great Falls, Montana during the first weekend in August, 2014. Francis died August 20th, 2012 in Tampa. They are reunited now once again.
