Lew's last words to me (on the phone) were: "Bob, we look forward to seeing you". Then, he was gone, literally, before I could say "thank you", he had hung up. So, Lew, since you are in my prayers, may I say "thank you" and "see you later!" God Bless!

Lew was a wonderful gentleman who, whenever we saw him, was light of heart and quick with a quip. My grandmother, Marge and he shared a close, loving relationship these past few years that made them both happy. For that, we are grateful.
Lew you will be missed but know that memories of you will be cherished always.

Ed and I both loved knowing Lew. He always had something interesting to say and was always in good spirits. He always surprised us with a good story about his life and best of all he was so loving to our dear friend Marge.

Marge, I'm so sorry for your loss of your dear friend, Lou.
I got such a kick out of seeing you both walking the neighborhood. In the early years you both "power walked" with Lou in the lead. (I remember if I came out to talk, he would leave you behind and not stop--so funny. Later it was you both holding hands and going at the same pace. Then I noticed I wasn't seeing you as often. Maybe just when the cars would go buzzing back and forth between your homes, or if you were sitting in Lou's garage watching the comings and goings of Laurelwood folk--always waving and smiling at Allison and I as we drove by.
I will miss the sweet display of companionship from two such great people. From the comments of other people in the guest book, I can tell that you and Lou's found-friendship was a wonderful gift for you both and your families. A person couldn't ask for more.
Your friend, Priscilla

What a privilege it was to know such an intelligent, kindly person. Lew was an exceptional individual. He had to be to have been such a good friend. He called me "Little Carol". I am thankful for the companionship Lew gave to my mom, Marge. He made her life just that much better. And I am so glad to have been given the opportunity to get to know such a happy spirit.
Lew, you will be missed but never forgotten

Our relationship for over 6 yrs. was my privilege. You were very kind, thoughtful, and helpful in every way.You advised me on my major house repairs and usually did the work required. I tolerated your puns, you tolerated my (awful) singing. When someone paid me a compliment you would say, "that's nothing, you should hear her sing. My wonderful memories of you shall live forever. Lew, I miss you, Marge

Greenwich Village. New York City ? If only i had known. The few times i had gotten to talk to Lew, there were so many other interesting things to discuss that i unfortunately never got around to the topic of my favorite city. :-(

The #2 son of Margie.

These are my two favorite Lew stories, which both happened Easter 2008:

Peter was speaking about a recent trip to Europe and the devaluation of the dollar:
Peter said, "One burger, fries and drink cost $21."
Lew thoughtfully responded, "Well, if I ever decide to dine out in Europe, I'll be sure to bring plenty of extra money."
"Lew," Peter said, "If you went to a restaurant in Europe and got the bill, you would'nt leave the restaurant! I'd have to fly to Europe and pay!"

Later, toward the end of the day, Lew, Marge and myself were together. The day had been long, and Lew felt a bit short of breath:
Marge, concerned, responded, "Oh, Lew...Are you O.K?"
Lew said, "I'm fine, Marge. It's just...the nearness of you....makes me breathless."

The photo of Lew on this page epitomizes Lew's spirit:
"dapper, a sunrise upon your back, a glint in your eye and ever forward..."

Margie, Jane and all family members,
May it ease your hearts to know that
Lew will always be in our hearts and
prayers. He is, now, at peace. May God be with you, all, during this difficult time.
