I had the pleasure and privilege to work with George both with Pickands Mather and Cleveland-Cliffs. What I appreciated most about George was his strength of character. He was a true gentleman and always treated people fairly and with respect. His ability to interact with our steel company partners and customers, to gain their trust and respect, was fundamental to helping the company weather difficult market conditions.

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of George. My memories of him are from our Ohio Bank days in Chagrin Falls. He was kind and warm, always supportive, and a real gentleman who always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. My sympathies to your family. God bless George. May he rest in peace.

We will always think of George as quite simply, one of the nicest people we have ever met. Others have commented on his ready smile. We were near neighbors for many years, and our children became friends of their kids, Our love and sympathy to George's family and friends. He was a wonderful person, and his abilities and character were clearly recognized throughout his life. Richard and Ann Gridley

George was a cousin I never saw often enough. My loss for sure. We are all very sad in Cleveland to hear of his passing, but glad he is at rest. I will cherish his wonderful smile and constant enthusiasm for everything he did. He was a true lover of people and a wonderful and honest listener. We are greatly saddened by the loss of a dear colleague and friend. George was a wonderful leader who inspired all of us, his subordinates at Savage River Mines,Tasmania. We have many great memories of good times with him in the US and Australia over many years. George was a warm generous man and we are all the poorer for his passing.

Although not having seen George but once or twice since we left Cleveland in 1977, my first memory of him is that I dont ever recall seeing George without a smile on his face. He was a pleasure to be around because he always made you feel better than you felt before you ran into him, and he was for sure, a wonderful person and a lot of fun. As Lynn noted, George evolved from a great family, not the least of which includes his brother Rusty, my life long dear friend and usher in our wedding. to whom I send my thoughts and prayers---likewise to Sara.
I hope your many wonderful memories wll help you both through this difficult time.
