Helen Getter Obituary


HELEN GETTER Helen "Muzzy" Getter left this life to be with her dear Lord on January 1, 2010. In her words, she was "not afraid" and her "bags were packed". She was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 20, 1929, the youngest of three children. She married Donald W. Getter on August 7, 1948. They settled in Miami, Florida in 1952 with their first of four children, Charles "Chuck" in tow. In the next four years, Catherine "Cathy", Robert "Bob" and Michael "Mike" arrived. During the years of family life and Don's Eastern Airlines career, they made life- long friends at Grace Lutheran Church and established a loving and busy life. In 1993 they moved to Barefoot Bay where Helen and Don became members of Concordia Lutheran Church. She belonged to the altar guild, church council and WELCA. She was a servant of the Lord. She was one of the "Golden Girls" formally known as the Sebastian Singers. Muzzy is survived by her four children, their spouses, 12 grand- children, and four great grandchildre n. A Memorial Service will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church, 300 Barefoot Boulevard in Barefoot Bay, Florida 32976 at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday January 9, 2010 officiated by Pastor Ron Qualley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church. A guest book may be signed at Strunkfuneral home.com Paid Obituary
