Robert Klunder Obituary

Robert Duane Klunder, 75, died Dec. 29, 2009, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach. He was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., and lived in Sand Lake. He was a winter resident of Fort Pierce for 10 years. Before retirement, he was the owner/operator of Klunder Concrete Construction Co. for 40 years. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Aberdeen Reform Church in Grand Rapids and attended the Indian River Presbyterian Church in Fort Pierce. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Valerie Klunder of Fort Pierce; sons, Ross Klunder of Rockford, Mich., and Douglas Klunder of Brooksville; daughter, Kerri Klunder of Rockford; brother, Richard Klunder of Grand Rapids; sisters Nancy Diedrich of Bath, Mich., and Carol VanderMeer of Lansing, Mich.; and four grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to one's favorite charity. Services: A memorial service will be at a later date in Grand Rapids. Arrangements are by Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach. A guest book may be signed at seawindsfh.com/obit.php.
