James Freshour Obituary

James R. Freshour, 75, died Nov. 17, 2010, at Scripps Hospital in Encinitas, Calif.. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Stuart since 1999, coming from Farmingdale, N.Y. Before retiring, he was an electrical engineer for 40 years on Long Island, N.Y. He was a member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Jensen Beach. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Freshour of Stuart; daughters, Judith Lanahan of Massapequa, N.Y., Diana Oehl of Lafayette, La., and Kathleen Abela of Great Falls, Va; sons, James Freshour Jr. of San Antonio, William Freshour of Patchogue, N.Y., Thomas Freshour of Smithtown, N.Y., Michael Freshour of Bayport, N.Y., Peter Freshour of Lakeville, Pa., Joseph Freshour of New Smyrna Beach and Steven Freshour of San Diego; sister, Patricia Ross of Hobe Sound; 35 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church outreach ministries program, Services: Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 23 at at Aycock Funeral Home, Jensen Beach. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Nov. 24 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Jensen Beach. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Jensen Beach. A guestbook is available at www.aycockjensenbeach.com.
