Willy was one of the nicest kids from our old "Island" multiethnic neighborhood of 3 deckers, bars, businesses and factories. Willy lived in a large multifamily over the famous "Bucket of Blood" saloon (Mahogony's Rendezvous) and not far from the enormous Wyman-Gordon forge whose rhythmic pounding lulled us to sleep each night during WW11 and into the 1950's. We kids did find patches of green (Crompton Park, The Gashouse field) and schoolyards where we'd play baseball and other sports. Willy was probably the best and purest baseball player in our group and could field and hit with the best of them. I can still remember him hitting the gashouse wall at the Gas Company field on the corner of Lafayette and Southbridge streets consistently for ground rule doubles or homers if high enough on the wall. I joined the Air Force the same year that Willy did and lost touch with him. My memory of Willy as a kid is that he was good, kind, graceful and giving. It seems he remained that way as an adult-no surprise.

So long ago, when we were first married, we had so many Sunday dinners. When I asked you if you liked the way I cooked, you would say, " I'm hungry, I will eat it !" Finally, you did say everything was really good. Our best man at our wedding, fifty years ago this year, you really were the "best man" The fridays lunch at Herbies, it was so great to see you. The way you made everyone laugh. Those are some of the things we will remember but Phil will remember your early years and remember the brother who looked out for his younger brother. Memories, You are and always will be in our heart. Love you, Barbara & Phil

Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because a loved one's gone. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, far as long as there is memory, they'll live on in the heart.
We will all miss you so much. You were a great Uncle and have given us all so many wonderful memories. God Bless.
