As a youngster our family vacationed in St. Louis to visit Grandma and Grandpa Hoyer and lots of aunts and uncles. One year we stayed at your house while your family was on vacation. I met you again as an adult at a wedding at Ascension in Charlotte NC. I asked "are we cousins?" Yes, we were and are. I exchanged Christmas cards with Uncle George every year. He wrote such good letters and notes. Uncle George and Aunt Dor are fondly remembered. Ellen Scheidt Eich

While at Kenrick Seminary, I was privileged to have met Pastor and Mrs. Hoyer, and visited their home, as they were packing to leave the Faculty Housing at "801." They were both wonderful people. I want to assure all of the family of my thoughts and prayers and assure them of my deep sympathy. May he rest in the joy of Easter Hope! Father Joseph A. Weber, Sunset Hills, Missouri

Dear Peter,
I learned of your father's death at Valpo at the Institute. A moving tribute was offered at the banquet tonight by my professor, Mark Bangert. I will be playing the Chapel organ tomorow morning, and will be thinking and praying for you and your family.
Peace,
Will Moser

Fr. George was my mentor at Christ Seminary--Seminex. I loved this man of gentle spirit and sparkling eyes bursting with laughing humor. He helped me know the joy of God's gift of life in Christ. Rest eternal grant him, O Lord; and let light perpetual shine upon him.

I envy those who knew George far longer than me. Yet I treasure our short aquantance. I say his name in honor for all his learned craft in speaking the Gospel, his wisdom and his marvelous sense of humor. Sleep well dear brother.
