He leaves his wife, Jacqueline, 3 stepchildren, Mark Notarangelo, Michael Notarangelo, and Jacqueline Lowell and her husband Jon, and his granddaughter Lilliana Lowell, all of Worcester. He also leaves a brother, Robert Jacques and his wife Francine of Shrewsbury, and two sisters, Sister Michele Jacques, SSA of Worcester, and Elise Jacques and her husband George Kelley of Thompson, CT; two nephews, Robert Jacques of Shrewsbury, Daniel Jacques of Holden and a niece, Michele Kelley of Cambridge.

Louis graduated from Assumption Preparatory School and the College of the Holy Cross where he majored in mathematics. On return to the United States, he completed a Master's Program in mathematics at Lowell State College. He worked as a systems analyst for many years at Paul Revere Insurance Company and later BGS.

Louis was defined by his love of chess, and was a long-standing member of the Greater Worcester Chess Club, meeting regularly at the Worcester Hibernian Cultural Center. For several years he gave private chess lessons and received great pleasure from the interaction with his students.

The family wishes to thank Louis' physicians, nurses and caregivers at Beaumont and the Salmon Hospice team for their compassionate care.

Worked with Lou in the early 1980s @ Paul Revere. His avocation as a Renault mechanic lead to many discussions surrounding my troublesome car. Best wishes to his family.

I'm so sorry to hear of Lou's passing. I loved visiting him every Monday morning and developed a beautiful friendship with him throughout the months we spent together. My condolences and prayers go out to Lou's family during this time. I thank you, Lou, for teaching me how to make the best of a tough situation and to be grateful for loyal family and friends. I'm glad that you are in a more comfortable place and I thank you for the friendship we were able to share.

Lou,

I always enjoyed playing a good game of chess with you at Worcester Chess Club. I still remember, you beat me the last time we played a couple years ago.

God bless,
Brad

Garreth Lynch, Ph.D. wishes Jacqueline and family most sincere condolences. Louis Jacques was a gentleman and a scholar even back in the days of our Assumption Prep acquaintance. At Holy Cross, he often cautioned me about having too much fun.
He's in my prayers.
