Abby Csaplar Obituary

Abby Hoge Csaplar, 82

Worcester - Abby, beloved wife of Will Csaplar, passed away on December 14, 2017 at her home after an extended illness with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Abby leaves behind a wide circle of family and friends. Besides her husband she is survived by 1. Wilf Csaplar Jr. & Dr. Saku Gunasegaram 2. Linda Csaplar & Michael Segur, and 3. Andy & Stacey Csaplar and their children Rory, Arden and Thane. She also leaves behind two sisters, Martha Briscoe and Lucy Nordahl, a brother in-law, Dick Csaplar, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She had a kind heart and wanted to help where ever she could. Abby was an active member at church and volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Mass Assoc. of the Blind, and Salvation Army. In her free time Abby enjoyed traveling the world with her husband of 59 years and many family members. She particularly enjoyed annual trips to Silver Bay, NY, which is where she met her husband. She was lifelong learner and encouraged that in others. She had many interests including: architecture, all sports but particularly water ones, postcards, photography, wildlife, arts and crafts and family including pets. Abby would attend family art shows, performances, or sporting events no matter where they were or how small a role they had or even in the rain. She even drove out of state to watch college sporting events even when her child might not even see any game time. She was there smiling and cheering. We can't tell you how many times we heard someone say you have a really special mother she is one of the nicest people I have met. Her warm spirit and gentle humor will be deeply missed. There will be no local services. There will be a family service in her beloved Silver Bay where her remains will rest in their eternal garden. Abby continues to help others in death as in life. She donated her brain for research through curepsp to hopefully help others. In lieu of flowers please donate to Curepsp @ www.psp.org or the charity of your choice.

Abby was a dear friend at the age of ten in Summit NJ and at Silver Bay during college years and on and off in years after. She was a most generous spirit and will be missed by all.

Carol and I were so sorry to hear of Abby's passing. Abby was such a joy to have as a very special friend. We have many fond memories of Abby; she and her husband Wil were very helpful to us as we transitioned from the Norton Troy plant to the Norton Worcester plant. She was a very genuine person and her jovial personality made knowing her a very pleasant relationship. Rest in peace, Abby.
