I too only knew Dave from the internet. I appreciated his intelligence, knowledge and (dare I say it) wisdom as shown in his posts. Dave, I will miss your perspective on so many things. RIP

It never gets any eaiser when you hear about someone passing away. Death is something I've always struggled with, as it is for anyone who loses someone they love. I still don't want to believe that you're gone. Uncle Dave, you put up a strong fight I know it wasn't easy for you. You were so intelligent, strong, funny, caring, sweet, supportive, influential, a great story teller, but more importantly a wonderful uncle and godfather. I will make sure to keep the memories of us alive because I know that's something you would have wanted. I'm glad you are no longer suffering and that you are at peace. I'm going to miss you so much.❤ I would give anything to see you one more time and give you the biggest hug. I'll always be proud to be your goddaughter. I love you so much Until we meet again, may you rest in the sweetest peace.
Forever loving you. Paige

Big bro...a warrior, an intellect and a gentleman. No one inspired my deeper thinking than he. My roommate until age 7, he tormented me in a good natured way. Upon his return from war, he provided sharp wit, an unbounding appetite for knowledge and became my mentor on religion, politics, literature, and philosophy. He suffered mightily for the last year and is now at eternal peace and joy. Until we reunite in heaven, I'll suffice with your hilarious emails and the many great memories.

Old Farmer Dave - you will be missed. Your love of men (and all his foibles) showed every time you discussed the Vets' group, politics, your family, or the St. Albans town. You, sir, inspired me. Rest in peace

Your insights, your humor, even your funny way of writing showing your New England heritage, all this has been missing for almost a year, and will now be missed for many years to come. In many ways we were kindred spirits.
RIP

Dave had a lifelong appetite for knowledge, all history, literature, theology, computer technology and government. His family and friends will miss his dry humor, intellect, loyalty, and courage. Miss you, big brother. Much love.

I miss discussing all kinds of crazy subjects and ideas on RBT's blog with my friend OFD (Dave Hardy). We solved many of the worlds problems over and over again. RIP, Dave.

Dave and I were only Internet friends. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but he made me think. The world is a far emptier place without him. I will miss him.

Be at peace Dave, you will be missed, no, you are missed. Now you can look forward to no more pain, no more grief, and some lively discussions with St. Peter.
Fair winds and following seas, brother.
