Polly Duff Obituary
Madison, AL
Polly Pate Duff passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014.
Polly was born on May 18, 1924 in Gainesboro, TN to the late Irby Bue Pate and Vivian Cooper Pate. After living in Ft. Worth, TX, Charlotte, NC and Nashville during her youth, she graduated from Jackson County High School in 1944.
Polly was the long-time owner of Rich-Schwartz Beauty Salon on West End Avenue in Nashville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Bold Duff of Nashville, and her sister, Ann Pate Hopkins of Gainesboro.
She is survived by her son, Gill Cooper Duff and his wife Martha Brothers Duff of Darien, CT, and by her daughter, Patricia Duff Mitchell and companion Huey Carter Hamilton of Madison, AL.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joseph Pate Mitchell of Troy, AL, Douglas Neal Mitchell of Birmingham, AL, Lola Cooper Brothers Duff of Darien, CT and Franklin, TN, and by her step-grandchildren, Brock Willis Daly Jr. of Franklin, TN, John Claiborne Daly of Atlanta, GA, and Grace Cunningham Daly of New York, NY, as well as devoted friends Sarah Jane Boyd and Judy Norment of Nashville.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens in Nashville.
