Jack Eubanks Obituary

Jack Eubanks

Silver Point, TN

Jack Lee Eubanks, age 78, of Silver Point, TN, passed away on July 1, 2015.

Jack had a 40 year career as one of the most successful guitarists in Nashville. A performer, session guitarist, and producer, Jack worked with diverse artists including Leroy Van Dyke, Charley Pride, Louis Armstrong, Connie Francis, The Chuck Wagon Gang, and The Platters. Jack was session leader/guitarist on six Alabama albums. He had several solo albums and four albums with the Nashville Guitars on Monument Records. Jack performed on Hee Haw, The Leroy Van Dyke Show, the Grand Ole Opry, and The Jimmy Dean Show. If you've listened to country music recorded from the 60's through the 80's, you've heard Jack play.

In addition to his passion for music, Jack loved archery, camping, gardening, and his family. If you talked to Jack, you were sure to hear about his kids, grandkids, and his garden.

Jack is survived by his brother and sister, five children, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many devoted friends.

A Memorial Celebration for Jack will be held on Monday, July 6 from 1 - 3 at Goodlettsville Church of Christ, 401 S Main St., Goodlettsville, TN 37072. Casual attire please.

In lieu of flowers, you can honor Jack's memory by planting some tomatoes or a tree, or make a donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

It seems like forever, but my family and Jack's family were friends back in the late 60's into the 70's.

Jack was an amazing guitar player, I don't think I have ever heard anyone as good in my life.

His string-tones were crystalized in perfection. I had not heard that he passed until recently, such a sad thing, but it comes to all of us.

However, Memories continue. I will always remember the soft image and caring man and his lovely family.

My father Jack R Steely Sr said your father was one of the hardest working artists in Nashville. My father was a director of photography and worked on hee haw, grand Ole Opry, and many documentaries. My father passed April 15 2015. His times in Nashville were by far his favorite.
