Michael Emil Raetzel, Sr., age 56, born September 19, 1957; passed away January 25, 2014 after a long battle cancer.
Preceded in death by father, Gerald Raetzel; brother, Mark Raetzel.
Survived by wife, Gayle Sloan Raetzel; sons, Michael (Cathy) Raetzel, Jr., James Raetzel, Kirk (Crystal) Pyle, Keith (Sarah) Pyle; daughter, Kelly (Scott) Fulsom; twelve grandchildren; mom and step-dad, Dorothy and Tex West; brothers, Kevin Raetzel, Tommy West, Ronnie (Amy) West, Charles West, Barry and Jeff Raetzel; sister, Wendy Raetzel (Rick) Wade; step-mom, Joan Raetzel; step-sisters, Lori (Richard) Shackleford, Stacey (Mario) Villareal; special aunt and uncle, Jonna and Gene Phillips; many nieces and nephews.
Michael was a carpenter. He was a long standing member of the Madison Elks Lodge #2473.
Visitation with the family will be at Madison Funeral Home Monday, 2 p.m. until 8 p.m., with an Elks memorial ceremony at 7 p.m. Celebration of his life will be in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home Tuesday, 11 a.m., with Pastor Steve Vanhooser and Bro. Chet Murrell officiating. Interment to follow at White House Memorial Gardens, White House, TN. Pallbearers, Kirk and Keith Pyle, John and Skylar Raetzel, Michael T. West, Chad and Cory Jones, Scott Sloan.

Mike was a wonderful husband, father, and friend to so many. He took me right into the family - it was as if we had known each other always. Mike was a very caring person and would literally give you the shirt off his back. He was always willing to help others in need. I will miss our laughs and time together. Mike - will always love you and keep you in my heart.
