Aubrey MAYHEW Obituary

MAYHEW, AubreyAge 81, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2009. He was born in Washington, D.C. on October 2, 1927, the son of the late Aubrey Mayhew and Verna Hall Mayhew. He is survived by his children, Lawrence "Larry" Mayhew (Vicki) of Madison, Tennessee, Michael Mayhew (Carol) of Los Angeles, California, Parris Mayhew of New York City, and Casey Mayhew of Nashville, Tennessee. He is also survived by his loyal and loving dog, Pal. His siblings are the late Faye Dean of Waynesboro, Virginia, Lawrence Mayhew (Sally) of Ocala, Florida, the late Iris (Moochie) Robb, Linda Rutherford (Dennis) of Indian Head, Maryland, and Jerry Mayhew of New Mexico. He is survived by five grandchildren, Joshua Aubrey Mayhew, Justin Lawrence Mayhew, Brendan Lucas Mayhew, John Robert Mayhew, and Sadie Jane Mayhew. He grew up in Washington, D.C., served in the Army in 1945, and began a career in music in 1946 as a booking agent, promoter, and record producer in New York and Nashville producing and recording many country music greats. His career spanned 60 years. He was also known for being a collector of John F. Kennedy-related items. He also authored three books. Mayhew lived a fascinating and interesting life. A memorial service will be held in his honor on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Paschall Theater at Montgomery Bell Academy, 4001 Harding Road, Nashville, Tennessee 37205.
