Betty Bell Obituary

BELL, Betty, A.On the wings of angels, May 17, 2009, I left this earth for greater glory. My lively loved ones include my "princess in training" daughter, Kathy Tarkington and her "top notch" husband, William Skibo Tarkington; my spirited son, Lee Bell and his wife Ann Bell. In the wake of my departure, my cherished grandchildren include Scott and Debbie Nowles, as well as Nicole and Brad Kiel. My precious great grand children include Taylor Nowles, Hailey Kiel, Morgan Bell, and soon to be, Alexis Kiel. My immediate family has planned a last farewell, in my memory, for additional family and friends Wednesday, May 20, 2009, from 10-11 a.m. at Vine Street Christian Church, 4101 Harding Rd, Nashville, TN 37205. (615) 269-5614. My friend and minister, Thomas Kleinert, should deliver kind words in a memorial service, 11 a.m. at the same location. I desire my earthly remains be placed with my beloved Bob, in the presence of family only. In remembrance of me, should you so desire, please do not send flowers or plants. I strongly feel donations to Odyssey Hospice, 1400 Donelson Pike, Suite B-1, Nashville, TN 37217, to be a very worthy organization, due to the expert loving care provided by Dave, Debra and Margo. Res Care matched me with my compassionate "buddy", Adrian. I would like to thank all my family and friends for their love, thoughts and prayers throughout my life. Finally, my last queen wish, to expire in my own home, was gracefully granted by my "princess in training". Cheers! Arrangements By: WOODLAWN-ROESCH-PATTON FUNERAL HOME, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37204, (615) 383-4754

You know how much I loved Betty. She made me laugh. She listened to me cry and complain. She gave me the greatest gift anyone could; her love and my best friend Kathy. I'll miss her so much. Love to all. Sista and Dennis

We are sure thinking of you this morning. Will always remember the good times with Betty - and how we (Karen & Betty) shared a love of blueberry muffins, and one of our mutually favorite Christmas songs - "Silver Bells." Certainly Silver Bells are ringing for Betty Bell today.

Kathy and Lee: Hearts break, tears flow and sorrow overwhelms now but those wonderful memories will be plentiful in due time. We remember your mother could always find a laugh that filled a room. She was kind, fun and loved her family. I'll just bet there was no doubt in Heaven that Betty had arrived! Know that we care and just remember -- one day what a wonderful reunion there will be. Love to you both and to your families.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Kathy, Lee and your families. We have many great memories of Betty on Lynn Dr. Bur-Goo, New Years Day and hanging around the neighborhood. God bless.

Kathy & Lee: Betty was such a wonderful & fun loving person. I will always cherish my memories of growing up with you, Bob & "Ma Bell" -- she was like a mother to me & treated me as though I was hers. Her laugh was contagious and uplifting. Her zest for life can only be over shadowed by her love for her family -- her own & those of us she so generously included. I will miss her deeply. God bless you and your families -- love, Jim Wilson (La Vergne, TN)

Betty had to be a great mother because her children and grandchildren are models of her warmth, personality, love, and compassion. Kudos to all. Angels are singing now,Betty has joined them.
