As a High-Schooler in Akron, OH in the 1960s, with my Dad as Pastor of a nearby church, Ronn invited me to be in the original Chapelaires, a singing group in The Chapel on Fir Hill. The good memories of Ronn and Donna still are some of the best, especially when Ronn would have to "tone down" Roger Byrd, our terrific drummer, so the group could be heard.

As a member of The Chapelaires, Ronn and Donna influenced me in what Christian music could be. The arrangements of songs we sang allowed us High School students to absorb and present their contributions in concerts around Akron, Ohio. I am happy to have spoken with Ronn only two years ago, when we talked about our next concert in Heaven's Choir.

I am sadly just hearing of Ronn's passing over a year ago. He and Donna were an amazing influence on my life. I admired and looked up to them as wonderful examples of servants of God. Ronn was such a pleasant and kind man, and his musical direction during my years in the Chapelaires at The Chapel are some of the dearest memories of my life. God gave both Ronn and Donna a great gift of musical talent, and they in turn used that talent for the glory of God. I can still hear their amazing piano duets, and I was blessed to have Donna as my piano teacher. Even though a bit late, I want to send my sincere condolences to Donna and their sons and grandchildren. He is missed by his family and many others, but he is now happy in Heaven.

Please accept my deepest condolences on the death of your dear husband. As a teenager, I sang in the Chapel choir. You and Ronn were such godly examples of how to live for God. I still remember the first song he lead us in: To God Be the Glory! May God comfort and strengthen you and your family. Penny Wigington Massoud

I was saddened to read here about the death of Mr. Huff, who I never met but wish I had. I play hymns on the piano and collect hymnals, and it was in one of these that I chanced upon the hymn "At The Name of Jesus" set to Mr. Huff's tune "Ashlyne". It has since become my favorite of all hymns. This is truly saying something, as I have at least a dozen different hymnals, old and new, from nearly as many Christian denominations. I want his family to know that he touched so many people in profoundly positive ways, people like me from very far away.

Ronn and Donna Huff were the mainsprings of the music program at The Chapel on Fir Hill, in Akron, Ohio, when I was a teenager there in the mid-1960s. I sang -- with little discernible talent -- in their choir and still feel the positive effects of that experience now, more than 50 years and many a mile later.

It was something of a shock to discover that Ronn had passed away. Somehow, I imagined someone with his talents was beyond earthly travails. I only wish I had been able to follow his later career more closely. It is wonderful, even so, to see that the Huff sons are carrying on the family tradition of making beautiful music.

My deepest condolences to the Huff family, and particularly to Donna (behind every successful man...yes, truly). Perhaps she will remember the Cabe boys from The Chapel those many years ago.

I was so fortunate to have Ron and Donna in my life. Being in Chapelaires was a big art part of my teenage years. Being a part of the Chapel was the best part of my Christian life. I took piano lessons from Donna until I was 19. She is a wonderful person. She and Ron guided many a person in their Christian lives. I pray for the whole family during this time. It is hard to lose a family member but rejoice because he is with our Lord!

In 1981 ( l believe) Ron, Doanna, and beautiful black piano moved in to an office at what Bob Mackinzie named the New Benson Company. I was early 20 's managed the telemarketing group, was married and found my now almost 36 year old son was on the way. The Huff, were the first to reach . With a gift ...an outfit .. He had his Sears portrait taken in it (the thing to do at the time). Many years passed ...when at 48 years of age I learned I had Parkinsons Disease and it was my beautiful friend Sue Bucannon who told told me about Ron's condition...God used the news to help me not feel so alone. Almost every day Since I have prayed for Ron And Donna I thank you both for these GIFTS and the way s you two have touched my life Barry Baird

Growing up in The Chapel on Brown and Vine, to be moved to The Chapel on Fir Hill (when I was 5) and later changed to The Chapel in University Park after I moved to Los Angeles. i remember Ronn being our musical director. I always enjoyed singing the songs he picked out. Today he is singing with the angels. He was an important part of my life. My condolences go out to his family.

Like so many others, David and I were so blessed to be a part of The Chapel choir, Akron, Ohio, under the direction and leadership of Ronn Huff. Lots of wonderful memories including the piano duets, trips to Carnegie Hall, PA, hauling around the harp, and just being with so many to sing the praises of our Lord. Ronn and Donna have touched so many lives with lasting impressions of love. We pray God will bless the Huff family with love, comfort and peace during this difficult time. Our love is with you.

My memory of Ronn goes back to 1968 when my husband, Ron, and I walked into the Chapel on Fir Hill in Akron, OH, and met Ronn for the first time. He arranged and conducted the orchestra for my very first album for the Heartwarming/Impact Label in Nashville. That was the beginning of other opportunities to work with him in concerts in the Pittsburgh area, me a young guest artist bedazzled by the talent and warmth of this wonderful guy and that of his beautiful Donna. It was always an honor to have his signature on several more of my albums for many years after. I will never forget this personable, humble, and ever so gifted human being and thank God that our paths crossed. To all of you, Ron and I send our heartfelt sympathy, love and prayers that the Lord will be near to you in the days ahead as we all look forward to that great reunion day when we are "Finally Home". I wanted to write to express our sincere condolences on hearing of Ronn's passing.

During college at Oral Roberts University, I sang on the national weekly TV program & quarterly specials. Ronn's arranging, conducting, life and leadership influenced me greatly, and his example over the past 40 years has encouraged us to remain faithful in our calling and work.

I always admired Donna, too - and her support of Ronn's music. She always had a crochet hook and a bag of yarn in the control room, while Ronn was leading a great group of players and singers in the studio.

We pray that The Comforter will be close to you and your entire family in the days ahead as you mourn - and celebrate Ronn's life.

God bless the Huff Family.

I was a new believer in Christ in 1966. A friend invited me to join choir At The Chapel on Fir Hill in Akron, Ohio. I learned to worship as the foundation of my faith because Ronn allowed this untalented teenager to participate. He was not just a choir director or incredible orchestrator he truly LED worship. He demonstrated humility and genuine love for Jesus in the midst of unmatched talent and leadership. I was one of the multitudes whose lives were changed because of the way Ronn lived and ministered. His legacy runs deep and wide.

I was so blessed to be under Ronn's direction in the Chapel choir. I was also privileged to have worked for him at The Chapel back in the late 60's and early 70's. He was so ahead of his time in his musical abilities. Still love listening to his music today on some of Sam Ocampo's cd's and the Alleluia CD. Praying for his loving wife Donna and his children and grandchildren.

Ronn's example as a servant of Christ affected my life as a teenager and adult. He was all about giving God all the glory and with his talent, that was tantamount. My life was completely changed because of the example of he and Donna and their love for Jesus. Yes, heaven's music must be sweeter with him there. Deepest sympathy to Donna and their family. To God be the glory.

My heart aches at the news of his passing, but he is leading a heavenly choir for sure now. I worked for him at The Chapel in Akron, OH many, many years ago. But he and Donna influenced me in so many constructive ways that I will never forget. They also trusted their baby boys to my care for several years when I watched them. Who knew that "our Ronn" would become such a famous writer, orchestrater and more. We still remember his and Donna's piano duets and feel so privileged to have had them in our presence for a few years. Ronn's sense of humor makes me laugh even today, but most of all, his love for God and his family impacted me. My condolences to Donna and the boys and extended family. But I know you rejoice in his release from his earthly body - he is beholding the One he served for so many years as I write and that gives me goose bumps. - Linda Alexander

Ronn and I were teenagers in Flint, MI and both of us were musicians for Flint's VCY (Victorious Christian Youth) and worked with Donn and Fran Kenyon for several years. Ronn orchestrations are still a blessing to many great choirs around the world. It has been an honor to keep in touch with Ronn by phone or email, the last time just a few months ago when the Kenyon's and I called him. He then wrote us saying, Your call made my week. Ronn and his father both suffered greatly but now he is united in heaven with his father, George, and mother, Evelyn. I love you Ronn and cherish our memories of making music together! Someday let's make music again in God's heaven where you suffer no more!
