Elizabeth Sterry

Age 85 years of Goodlettsville, TN, Robertson County, passed away at White House Health Care on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Robertson County, TN, the daughter of James Robert Hill and Stella Effie Evitts Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Paul Sterry; brother, James Otis Hill; sister, Louise Binkley.

A Celebration of her life was held Sunday, February 8, 2015 at 2 p.m., at Springhill Baptist Church on Dividing Ridge Rd., with Ronnie Bellar officiating. Final resting place followed at Springhill Cemetery, with Terry Eden, Jimmy Foster, James Bagby, Flipper Nichols, Steve Baird, Jeremy Newton, Tracy Johnson & Ben Sprouse serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Women's Sunday School Class at Springhill Baptist Church.

She was a charter member of Springhill Baptist Church. She loved to quilt and made quilts for all her family members and baby quilts for all the new babies. She loved to work in the yard and enjoyed watching the birds, deer and squirrels in her yard. She was an avid reader. She loved people and loved to talk and visit with them at every opportunity. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished each and every one very much.

She is survived by son & daughter-in-law, Tracy & Vickie Sterry, Greenbrier, TN; daughters and son-in-law, Lola & Larry Fields, Goodlettsville, TN & Tammy Artz, Goodlettsville, TN; brother, Raymond Hill, Goodlettsville, TN; sisters and brother-in-law, Gladys & Junior Eden, Goodlettsville, TN & Clara Mae Harris, Madison, TN; 4 grandchildren, Nicki Fields & Amanda Fields, Stevie (Steven) Crossland & Megan (Ric) Keyes; 3 great-grandchildren, Belle Bagby, Turner & Leo Crossland.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 3-8 p.m., at Austin & Bell Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel.

The family suggests donations may be made "In Memory of Elizabeth Sterry" to the Springhill Cemetery Fund, c/o Austin & Bell Funeral Home, 2619 Hwy. 41 South, Greenbrier, TN 37073.
