Joseph Obey Obituary
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church for Joseph Junius Obey, Sr., 66, who died at 8:30 p.m. on December 8, 2012 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Services will be conducted by Rev. Keith LaBove.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce F. Obey; one daughter, Eurica Obey (Ronald Paul); three sons, Corey Obey, Joseph Obey, Jr., Jarrod Obey (Alisca Swan); one sister, Virgie Montgomery; three granddaughters, Chiara Obey, Jatasya Obey, Kimdrea Obey; three grandsons, Antonio Antoine, Jarrod Obey, Jr. and Lorenzo Romero of Virginia Beach, VA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eligas Obey; his mother, Agnes Thibeaux Obey; one brother, Lawrence Obey; two sisters, Gloria Obey and Audrey Obey and one granddaughter, Yola Marie Avie.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Syrie Funeral Home from 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A rosary will be recited on Saturday at 9 a.m.

Please accept my deepest sympathies. I went to nursing school with Joseph years ago and one thing I remembered about him was that he was'nt a quitter, a kind man with a contagious laugh. My heart was sadden to see this today. To the family; may God give you the courage and strength; especially during this holiday season to help you celebrate a life well lived.
