Many others who lived in the Irish Channel could say what Al always said, and "we were the luckiest people alive" because we lived in the right place at the right time. My condolences to the McCrossen family at the loss of their father.

Al -
Thank you for being my friend, my mentor, my colleague. I think about, and will always remember, the great times we shared during our seventeen years on stage together.
Thank you for giving me an opportunity to learn from you and to play alongside some of the best musicians in the New Orleans area. You will be sadly missed. You were truly a friend.

To the McCrossen Family:
Al was a wonderful man. I have known him for over 22 years playing music with my ex-husband (the Fugg-ow-wees).Every time I would see him, he would always have that special smile on his face and that "come here you" he would say when he saw my son. Al will always be rememberd for his music he so loved. May your family take confort in a life well lived and the love he shared.
