Thomas McMurry Obituary

A retiree from Shell Oil Co. with 38 years of service and a resident and native of Norco, he died at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, in Jefferson. He was 79 and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Visiting at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco, on Thursday, Dec. 20, was from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norco, on Friday at 11:30 a.m., with the Rev. Terry Hayden, celebrant. Entombment in St. Charles Mausoleum in Destrehan. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Strate McMurry; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Charlie Kragle, of LaPlace, and Kristie and Cameron Stapler, of Geismar; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Bonnie McMurry and Timothy and Raé McMurry, all of LaPlace; sister, Eula "Nannie" McMurry; brother, Courtney McMurry; two brothers-in-law, Lester Strate and Milton Strate; seven grandchildren, Kristen Barré, Brittany McMurry, Cody McMurry, Katelyn Stapler, Cole Stapler, Garrett McMurry and Brandon Kragle; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas D. McMurry and Marguerite Perret McMurry; sister, Lois McMurry Kaiser; and brother-in-law, Brian Kaiser.
