We are so sorry to see that Charlie has passed. While we lived in New Roads, we had many occasions to be together. He had a great smile and wit. It seemed he was a good friend to all. Even though we live in Gulf Shores, we still remember our special friends in New Roads.

To the Bonnette family. I am so sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. His life emulated his strong character and his support to his children and wife were exemplary. There are other good men in this world but none finer. I was blessed to share in his family for a short time but what I took away from it is cherished and timeless.

Ms. Magda, my sincere condolences at this very sad time. You know that I have a deep admiration for you and Mr. Charlie and am grateful for your friendship and kind support for so many years. Mr. Charlie poured out to me his experience, his knowledge and his trust when we forged a great working relationship as newly elected city councilmen and a lifelong friendship. His personality filled the room, his laugh was infectious, his keen ability to get to the core of the matter and his collaborative nature are all great gifts that will be missed. I thank God that He put Mr. Charlie in my path and I thank Charlie Bonnette for all that he invested in me and all that he gave to his family, community and country. May God provide you with peace and wrap his loving arms around you.
