I was a high school classmate of Alvin and remember when he was given the nickname of Zeke, after his father Zack. We played football and ran track and had many good times. On my visits to La, I try to visit Zeke and Juanita, but not often enough. On the last visit I was introducte to his pet squirrel. Will miss him and Juanita. Sorry for your loss and my sympathy to his entire family. Robert J. Acosta

Dear Madere Family,
I had the pleasure of knowing both your mother, Mrs. Juanita and your dad, Coach "Zeke" from an early age. They both gave their valuble time, to the youth of Gonzales and surrounding community, in volunteering time to coaching and guidance in youth sport's progams. Both always had a listening ear for any child, who had a story to tell, or a problem to help work out. I will always be grateful to have the support of Coach Zeke's encouragement and advice (8th grade), too never give up and follow your heart. We were so fortunate to have grown up in a community(Gonzales) where parents, your own or others, were so involved in our lives that we never noticed. Most of us, not until our own children came along. Then we realized what a great upbringing we enjoyed, and some fortunatly have stepped up and followed in their footsteps.
Pam, Lisha, Alvin , Mark and Vicki,
May the Peace of the Lord be with all of you, and your families during this time.
God's Peace, Joe "Big Hutch" Hutchinson and family.

I will always treasure my memories of growing up next door to Mr. Zeke. He was always so patience with all of us kids and always could make us laugh. Some of my favorite times were had under his carport watching him cook up something wonderful while he and my Dad would joke around. May you rest in peace, Mr. Zeke, knowing you were well loved and will be missed by many.
